The old Left was pointing out the situation of rulers over here, and subjects over here. It did not matter particularly that there were eight kinds of subject — of two (or more?) genders. And these radical leftists were themselves rejected!

Leftism itself was rejected. However a few leftists were too damn smart: they got into the academy in any case. The academy has objective standards: a leftist camouflaged as a historian or economist (Sweezy, Harvard), may slip in. It happened occasionally…
